This year, the qualifying tournament to grab a ticket for the Euro Bike Polo Championships (June 24-26, Barcelona), took place in Haarlem (in the Netherlands, not Harlem!).
Because places are limited to 3 teams for the Benelux (10 for UK, 8 for Germany, 8 for France…), 3 teams from Antwerp and 2 from Brussels played hard against the Dutch teams.
But Belgians are not easy to eat: 2 teams are in the top 3! Guacapolo from Brussels finished 2nd, Fishsticks 3rd place!

Well done, Belgians !
A few weeks ago, our friends from Antwerp decided to play 2 on 2 (instead of 3 vs 3) and teams were made on the spot.
Even some guys from Rouen/ Lille were there to play !
Concept of the tournament, taking place in Paris (“Les Invalides”) on a saturday, was « A lot of polo, a lot of fun », and the MGM Polo team managed it pretty well!
Before each game, a player had to spin a wheel, defining a specific rule for the game, such as “No Willy No Goal” (obligation to willy to score), Strip Polo (take off a clothing if your team took a goal), “Death Foot” (if foot-down, the player is out till next goal). Sun was there, even if rain arrived at the end of the day, for the last game: Baboons Vs. Zebras
During 2 days, an international Fixed Gear Freestyle Jam and a Polo tournament
took place in Lisbon, Portugal.
14 teams divided in 2 groups, so that every team played at least 6 games a day
before the elimination rounds.
Then, the Semi-Final, followed by the game for 3rd and 4th place, and finally the double-final!
The Guacapolo, from Brussels — Molo, Sacha, Antoine, and their coaches Clemsy and Dan — were there to enjoy the sun and games.
⊚ Every Thursday, from 7PM to 10PM @ Notre Dame des Champs School, not far from "Churchill" (Entry on the left side from Zeekrabbe street. White tires are mandatory !) Clic the image to see on GoogleMap
