Still a few days left to see the “Terrain Dur” exhibition, made by our friends Guidoline
for the 11eme Festival des Cultures Urbaines in Canteleu (Fr)…
But it will then be visible at Le Havre (Fr) during 2 month for “Une saison Graphique” !!!
A lot of material from all over the world: great job, guys !
Until April the 30th 2011, “11ème Festival des Cultures Urbaines”. Address: Espace Culturel François Mitterrand > Parc Georges Pierre, 76380 Canteleu.
A few weeks ago, our friends from Antwerp decided to play 2 on 2 (instead of 3 vs 3) and teams were made on the spot.
Even some guys from Rouen/ Lille were there to play !
Concept of the tournament, taking place in Paris (“Les Invalides”) on a saturday, was « A lot of polo, a lot of fun », and the MGM Polo team managed it pretty well!
Before each game, a player had to spin a wheel, defining a specific rule for the game, such as “No Willy No Goal” (obligation to willy to score), Strip Polo (take off a clothing if your team took a goal), “Death Foot” (if foot-down, the player is out till next goal). Sun was there, even if rain arrived at the end of the day, for the last game: Baboons Vs. Zebras
During 2 days, an international Fixed Gear Freestyle Jam and a Polo tournament
took place in Lisbon, Portugal.
14 teams divided in 2 groups, so that every team played at least 6 games a day
before the elimination rounds.
Then, the Semi-Final, followed by the game for 3rd and 4th place, and finally the double-final!
The Guacapolo, from Brussels — Molo, Sacha, Antoine, and their coaches Clemsy and Dan — were there to enjoy the sun and games.
So, we now know where are the best european Polo players from: if you want to improve your game, go to France !
Final game was against Switzerland, and ended with a score of 13:10.
We won against Italy and Karlsruhe, tied against London and lost the 5 other games. The teams consisted of the top 10 players of each country, so in the end we were pretty happy with our 7th place. The frogs took home the trophy, by the way.

Benelux team, photobombed by Nicky: great job, really childish :) (klootzak)
Teams from France, Switzerland, Karlsruhe (hosting city), Germany, London, England, Spain and Italy!
After Italy, London (not England yet: London) and Switzerland…
and after a lot of (not that usefull) discussions, the players have been choosed: Taka will be our Captain, on general agreement.
But we had to decide how many player’s spots for the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Denmark… Finally: 4 NL / 4 BE / 1 PL / 1 DK.
And we managed to combine 1 team with 4 countries (but it needed 13 pages on a forum):
Benelux Team
• Taka (EHV/cap)
• Jamal (EHV) • Rutger (EHV) • Lorenzo (EHV)
• Samson (DK)
• Agata (PL)
• Antoine (Brussels) • Jaouad (Antwerp) • Nicky (Antwerp) • Chris (Antwerp)
… and here comes the mascot !
35 days to go…
Infos: Greifmasters.com • 4-5-6 February 2011 • Entrance hall of „Messe Karlsruhe“, Messeallee 1, D-76287 Rheinstetten, Germany.
In 44 days from today will start the second edition of the Greifmasters, still taking place in Karlsruhe (Germany) during 3 days.
As the format will be “Bench Minor”, countries are discussing hard to build their (big) team, choose a captain and defend their colors: Benelux, England, France, Germany, Italy, London, Switzerland, Spain and… Karlsruhe, of course.
The circus will be from 4 to 6 February 2011 and we already know composition of Spain and France:
We ask ourselves what animal will represent Benelux-Denmark-Poland, but as graphics are great, we don’t worry ! To be continued… !
